*ring ring* *ring ring*
(actually, my cell phone rings with Miserlou, the Pulp Fiction Theme)
I pick it up. It's Mole Harris from I CAN LICK ANY SONOFABITCH IN THE HOUSE! and they are leaving West Virginia and headed southbound to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to play the Local 506.
I was pretty excited as were they. I think I made this community a few months after meeting them and not only are they really cool motherfuckers, but, they can really rock, as you may well know. So, I rolled up to the club and there they are in all their cramped van glory hanging out at the bar and talking with folks. I see Jon tinkering on his computer, as per usual, and we immediately hit it off talking about music, the trip down, and life in general. I hear tale of a totally fucking wierdo who was apparently going to 'sit in' with the band and play harmonica. He has also, apprantly called the club like 9 times looking for Dave.
Anyway I start talking to Mike D. whilst Jon is packing up his shit and getting all ready. And in walks this semi-dressed up (like with a Blazer on and shit) drunk who, at the door, says he is the manager of the band. He rolls up to Mike D. and I, and says, and I shit you not...
Whiskey Dude (WD) - "Know where I can find the 'Beat the sombitches house"?
Mike D. (MD) - "Who?"
*Mike looks at me and I laugh and shrug*
WD - "I can lick any asshole in the place" (which really, sounds like a lost episode of OZ)
MD - "What, man?"
WD - "Com'on, man. I just want to talk to the band, man."
MD - "What's the band's name, again?"
WD - "I can beat a sombitch in the place....or something. Man, I just want to find the band!"
MD - "Ask the bartender, dude...I don't know'em."
Yeah. It was pretty fucking strange, and I could go on an on about it, but, you know, in the interest of time, and well, your own curiousity, bring on the pics. I'm not gonna sit down and label them or anything, I'm just gonna stuff them in here with slight commentary...
Here is the band setting up and getting ready to start playing Little Girl Blue
